Tips
Tip OneWhen it comes to Training on your own, do not worry about how many balls you hit. It is more important to work on your skills and drills(Dry runs, contact drills, form) and have quality reps when going full speed.
It is better to Hit 30 Consistent balls than 100 Inconsistent balls in a day. |
Tip Two
Many Kickers think that Getting your legs and body as strong as possible through weight training will make you a stronger more consistent kicker. FALSE.
Drills and Consistent repetition will improve your strength and consistency along with Weight training. If you have the strongest leg In the world, but you do not know how to use it, you will never maximize it's potential. |
Tip Three
Consistency is more important to coaches than having a big leg. Yes having a big leg is nice, but if Player 1 can make 10/10 from inside 40 Yards but be less consistent from 45+, and Player 2 can make 5/10 from inside 40 and hit a 50+, Player 1 will be chosen every time for the job. Consistency is the Key.
